TBNN signs multi £million framework agreement with Arqiva

Newcomer transmits great success

As the recession grinds to an end, it leaves a trail of small businesses crumbling to the ground behind it. For those that survived the downturn, many are now clutching on for dear life trying to make ends meet. It’s refreshing then to hear a small company has triumphed against the recession despite only setting up in the UK two years ago.

Since its inception, The Bridge Networks North Ltd (TBNN), a broadcast product and services provider, has been successful at winning and maintaining new business; so much so they recently signed a multi £million framework agreement with communications infrastructure and media services company, Arqiva.

The 23 year agreement will see TBNN involved in a range of projects that includes assisting Arqiva with the UK’s flagship broadcast project, television Digital Switch Over (DSO).

“This framework agreement with Arqiva is an important milestone for The Bridge Networks North, especially given the current financial climate and our recent establishment in the UK. This win provides us with certainty for the future and allows us to work alongside one of the industry’s greats,” said Peter Gordon, TBNN’s Managing Director.

TBNN was established in February 2008. It specialises in the planning, design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of radio frequency (RF) systems that are used extensively in the broadcast, telecoms and public safety industries. Arqiva is a key player in the UK’s DSO programme. It is responsible for replacing analogue and low power digital transmission infrastructure with new high‐power digital networks to achieve nationwide digital terrestrial TV coverage. To be involved in this project is testament to TBNN’s success.

"The Bridge Networks North has proven to be a reliable and trustworthy partner for Arqiva. This agreement strengthens our relationship and establishes a way we can work together to meet the changing demands of the broadcast industry," said Peter Heslop, Arqiva’s Director for Digital Switchover.

TBNN is providing various key projects under this framework agreement, including the project management and installation of specialist RF groundwork equipment and feeder cabling at some 80 major transmission sites, a critical link in the DSO broadcast chain. TBNN is also managing a programme of antenna installations at smaller relay sites, in time for the new digital services.
